Twitter Tees

May 24th, 2009

Twitter and Threadless have teamed up in an all-T affair, creating  twitter.threadless.com. It’s an awesome concept and an excellent example of 2 big businesses, who manage to retain their “for the people” vibe, working together.

Wolfmother Tour with AC/DC

May 23rd, 2009

Wolfmother hit the Australian music scene with more hype and success then any new Aussie band had, in a long time. Their debut album charted at #1, and it didn’t matter what Australian radio station you listed to, it was “Wolfmother, Wolfmother, Wolfmother”.

Now, after drummer change, they’re recording Cosic Egg – the long-awaited follow-up album. Will they be the same Wolfmother..? To most music fans, probably. Will the second album live up to the standards and hype of the first..?  We’ll have a better understanding on June 2nd when the first single is released.

Stand by for more Wolfmother news.

The Sachet Stand

May 22nd, 2009

The Sachet Stand is one of those ideas that everyone wishes they came up with. The Sachet Stand is also a product that every coffee shop on the planet should have. It’s a table-top sugar packet rubbish bin. Most coffee shops use packet sugar, so there is always sugar packet rubbish floating around on the breezy days. The Sachet Stand solves all these problems, easily, and looks pretty good at the same time.

For more info, just visit the Sachet Stand website.

Where Google Fails Badly

May 22nd, 2009

I’m trying to get a Google Map API for a website that uses Google Apps hosted mail. You would expect Google to recognise, and accept, a Google Apps hosted email address as a “Google” account, and authorise the API accourdingly. Wrong. In order to get the API, I have to create a new Google account, using the pre-existing Google Apps email address. What a joke.

That’s FailMail if you ask me. And just an absolute WAISTE of an email sign-up. The account will never be used, and Google is already HOSTING the entire company’s email. Why Google, why..?

The White Album Concert

May 21st, 2009

The Beatles’ White Album is regarded as the greatest album ever made, by the greatest band to ever exist. Now that’s a BIG call. Whether you agree or disagree, it doesn’t change the fact that  Chris Cheney, Phil Jamieson, Josh Pyke and Tim Rogers are teaming up with a 17-piece band to this classic album back to life.

Touring Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne through early August, keep your eyes open for tickets sales which open on May 22nd.

HOLYmac! Michael Tomalaris is starting the ‘Mick for Pink‘ campaign tomorrow. ‘Mick for Pink’ refers to Michael Rogers’ quest to lead this year’s Girl d’Italia. He’s currently sitting in 3rd position, and being a multiple World Time Trial Champion, is a hot favourite for tomorrow’s 66km time trial.

Go Mick! Go Mike!
