HOLYmac! Valverde gets a 2 year ban from CONI for his role in Operación Puerto. That means no Tour de France Alejandro.

The ongoing battle of Valverde V’s CONI was ruled upon today, with the Italian anti-doping agency banning Alejandra for 2 years. It’s an Italy-only ban (at this stage), but with the 2009 Tour de France passing onto Italian soil, that means Valverde won’t be pinning a start number on this year. Unless the case gets over-ruled. Tis battle will no doubt go on. You can read a more in-depth analysis on cycling news.

Holy Mac! Tornado Tom misses another Tour de France due to another positive cocaine test.

Holy Mac! Tom Boonen is not riding this year’s Tour de France, banished after his second positive test for cocaine. The matter is not a performance enhancing issue, as the test was “out of competition”, but there are criminal implications as the drug is an illegal substance under Belgium law.

Holy Mac! Tom tests positive to cocaine, again.

Holy Mac! Tornado Tom is in trouble, again. He’s tested positive to an “out of competition” test, so it’s a personal use issue, not performance enhancing issue. Drug addiction is not discriminatory.
