Postbox Email App

HOLYmac! Postbox is an email App that runs on both Mac & PC, and Beta 12 is available now as a free download. It’s a BIG download – 25mb – and will consume 85mb of your harddrive. So here’s hoping it’s a really big tool to add to ones’ Mac Toolbox. I’ll take it for a test run tomorrow, and see if it knocks Mailplane from my mantle.

You can download the free Beta via the Postbox website

HOLYmac! Did you know that emptying your trash in OS X doesn't really empty it..?

HOLYmac! Did you know that emptying your trash in OS X doesn’t really empty it..? I just found out myself via Apple Pro Tips on the official Apple website. There are 2 options in Finder to delete trash.

Finder > Empty Trash

Finder > Secure Empty Trash

The “Secure” option actually removes the data from your computer, as opposed to “moving” it into the trash. It’s something I’ll do more often now, since ….

It just really deleted 95,000 items from my hardrive

It’s a bit of a security risk to have items that you want deleted for ever, not actually deleted at all.

Thanks Apple Pro Tips!
